Sciton BBL Blue Light (420nm) treatments treat the heart of acne lesions, the bacteria that causes the acne in the first place. The Blue Light painlessly destroys the bacteria that causes acne and allows faster healing of the skin. A series of treatments are delivered twice a week for a period of weeks. Your technician will recommend the correct duration of your treatment based on your skin’s condition.
Acne, commonly known as “pimples”, is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the sebaceous gland present in the skin. In mild to moderate cases, there may be black heads (comedones), white heads (milia), pustules (also commonly called white heads) and papules (one stage before puss formation). In severe cases, there are nodules, cysts and abscesses which can lead to scarring if not treated properly.
Acne is more common in the age group of 13 – 30 years but it may occur or persist even beyond this age limit. Males are more frequently affected than females.
BBL acne phototherapy works on mild to severe inflammatory acne and is ideal for treating the redness associated with mild to moderate acne and cystic acne.
Results are seen within three to four weeks. A typical treatment regimen consists of 4 treatments over a 4-week period. Each treatment takes about 10-15 minutes
